sustainable construction
We believe in maximising the energy efficiency of all our projects. We can calculate heat loss and energy efficiency of buildings in-house, which enables us to design in energy saving measures at an early stage of the process and keep the building's performance constantly under review.

| Completed projects include:
Remodelling and extension of a house in West London with KMK Architects which included upgrading of the existing structure with external insulation and timber cladding to upgrade the energy performance of the original 1950s house to 21st century standards. Extension to a house in Lincoln. The clients were anxious to achieve high standards of energy efficiency whilst using ethically sourced materials, all within a tight budget. They also wanted to the extension to match the existing house. Behind the conventional outwards appearance there are some progressive construction details including a very highly insulated timber frame wall construction faced in brick slips. |

alternative energy generation
We can advise on the incorporation of alternative energy systems including photovoltaic panels and ground source heat pumps.
Karen has experience with the installation of photovoltaic panels in an existing building in London and has studied a range of alternative energy systems and the Code for Sustainable Homes.
materials
We believe that building materials should be responsibly sourced. We only specify timber from sustainable and well managed forests, and believe in obtaining bulky materials locally where possible to minimise unnecessary transportation.
